My mission focuses on the possibility of change.
I want to encourage clients that change is possible and achievable.
Their needs are not selfish; they are necessary to live a full life.
Together, we can figure the best path to live their lives and share it with others.
Therapy is about meeting needs.
My clients will learn to identify what they need, why they make certain choices in life, and how intentional their behavior is.
Together, we can develop a client/therapist relationship in a safe, supportive space that offers an outlet to express emotions, inner thoughts, fears, and dreams.
No client is alone in desiring more from life, wanting something different, or even hoping things stay the same.
Understanding that a client cannot pour into their relationships, family, job, or responsibilities if they are empty, a lot of my work with clients is grounded in Reality Therapy.
Being present and open are good places to start.
Even if we don’t talk, being present on the part of the client is a good beginning. I don’t want my clients to be hard on themselves.
A client needs to be open to understanding that they have choices in their life and what role they play in exercising those choices to achieve their own personal satisfaction.
Experience is my teacher.
Who am I? Based on my personal experience, I am a person who deeply believes in the power of therapy.
Initially, I was going to school for occupational therapy. But after attending sessions during college for my personal growth, my therapist was so impactful that I was struck by the difference in how I chose to live my life.
So, I changed my course of study, and now here I am. I have been through many highs and lows in life with all the stuff. Therefore, I understand firsthand the strength it takes to make changes in one’s self and what it means to not be ready.
Here are my credentials.
Currently, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pursuing another LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor). My post-graduate degree is from Governors State University, and I’ve worked in education for 15 years.
Some interesting facts about me are…
I am an empath, so I’m able to sympathize and feel what my clients share with me.
I consider myself a “creative” and enjoy cooking and making jewelry. I’m an avid reader and was a published author at a young age.
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
