Cyndie Penrose, MA, LCPC

My mission is about finding hope.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, my mission is to create a therapeutic and supportive environment promoting emotional wellness, positivity, and hope.

My therapy emphasizes clients gaining understanding.

Working with me, clients can expect to develop a better understanding of themselves through guided discovery, journaling, cognitive reframing, and role playing.

My approach to treatment planning is based on an individual’s needs. I incorporate cultural sensitivity into a variety of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.

With the belief that people are resilient, I am passionate about supporting people navigate through life’s challenges.

Questioning supports open communication during therapy.

To be productive, I’d like my clients to be unafraid to ask anything.

Clarity in communication improves our connection and exposes purpose.

In addition, I’d like clients to make our sessions a part of their lives by putting the tools they learn into practice throughout the week.

Who am I?

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, passionate about supporting others work through emotionally painful situations.

I thrive on positivity and optimism; and contrary to the popular debate, I’d rather fill a glass than see it half empty or half full.

Here are my credentials.

My Bacherlors of Art degree is in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and I have a Masters of Art in Counseling from Lewis University.

For 13 years, I’ve provided direct counseling, managed mental health and supportive services programs, and mentored newly licensed mental health counselors. In addition, I have over 10 years experience working with teens, adults, and families.

An interesting fact about me is that…

It’s been a lifelong goal of mine to visit every continent on Earth – and yes that includes Antarctica!

My favorite quote is…

“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.”

– Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables
