Working toward Basic or Certification

After completing EMDR training, clinicians are required to accumulate consultation hours before earning their Basic or Certification designation from EMDRIA. Basic requires 10 hours. Certification requires an additional 20 hours after Basic is complete. Consultation must be provided by an EMDRIA-approved consultant.

This is where the real learning happens. Consultation is not just a requirement to check off. It is the space where you bring your real cases, work through what is not clicking, and develop the kind of clinical confidence that training alone cannot give you.

What to expect

Sessions are collaborative, clinician-centered, and rooted in your actual work. We will review cases, explore your application of the protocol, address challenges with specific presentations, and integrate somatic and parts-based lenses where relevant. You will leave each session with clarity and something concrete to apply.
