Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to healing that works with these physical responses directly, helping your nervous system find its way back to safety and balance.

How Somatic Experiencing works

Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing works by gently tracking physical sensations and gradually releasing the stored survival energy that gets stuck in the body after overwhelming experiences. Rather than reliving trauma through talking or re-processing, SE helps the body complete what it could not finish at the time, restoring its natural capacity to regulate and recover.

What it can help with

Somatic Experiencing is particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, and the physical symptoms that often accompany emotional overwhelm. It can also support deeper healing when talk therapy alone has not been enough.
